1 Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using CV Central (the "Service") — whether through our website at cvcentral.io, any related application, or any feature therein — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. If you do not have such authority, or if you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to use CV Central. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2 The service
CV Central provides an AI-assisted CV builder, scoring tool, cover letter generator, ATS compatibility checker, interview preparation tool, and related career services designed for the European job market.
Free tier
Free accounts have access to the core CV builder, one AI analysis per CV, and PDF download with a "CV Central · Free" watermark. Features may be limited or subject to fair use restrictions.
Pro and Elite tiers
Paid subscription tiers offer additional features including unlimited AI analyses, watermark-free PDF downloads, dashboard tracking, and priority processing. Features vary by tier and are described on our Pricing page.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
3 Accounts
Some features of CV Central require you to save your CV data, which is stored against your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if any information you provide is inaccurate, false, or no longer current.
You must notify us immediately at info@cvcentral.io if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other security breach.
4 Acceptable use
You agree to use CV Central only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information to generate CV content
- Use the Service to create CVs on behalf of others for commercial gain without our written consent
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service by automated means
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it
- Circumvent any security measures, rate limits, or access controls
- Use the Service to generate content that is discriminatory, defamatory, or in breach of any applicable law
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs without our express written permission
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates these provisions, including removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting to law enforcement where appropriate.
5 Subscriptions & billing
Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All prices are displayed in GBP and include VAT where applicable. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting us at info@cvcentral.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time within a billing period, unless required by law.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment for any paid plan. To request a refund within this period, contact info@cvcentral.io with your account email and reason. After 14 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK law.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices at any time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase. If you do not cancel before the new price takes effect, you will be deemed to have accepted the new price.
6 AI-generated content
CV Central uses artificial intelligence to enhance, rewrite, and score your CV content. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI outputs are suggestions only. Content generated by AI is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific circumstances. You should review and edit all AI-generated content before submitting it to employers.
- We do not fabricate information. Our AI is instructed only to rephrase and strengthen information you provide. It should not invent employers, qualifications, or dates. However, AI systems can make errors, and you are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of your final CV.
- No employment guarantee. Using CV Central does not guarantee that you will obtain employment, interviews, or any other outcome. We make no representations about the effectiveness of our Service in the job market.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of your CV. Submitting a CV containing false or misleading information to a prospective employer may be fraudulent and could have legal consequences.
7 Intellectual property
Your content
You retain ownership of all personal information, work history, and other content you submit to CV Central ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant CV Central a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, store, and use Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
Our content
The CV Central brand, website, software, templates, and all other materials provided by CV Central are owned by or licenced to Clavent Ltd and are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our express written permission.
AI-enhanced output
The final CV document you create using CV Central, including any AI-enhanced content, belongs to you once generated. We do not claim ownership of your completed CV.
8 Your data
Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using CV Central, you consent to the processing of your personal data as described therein.
CV data you enter is stored in your browser's local storage and, if you choose to save, in our secure database. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting info@cvcentral.io.
9 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by English law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- CV Central and Clavent Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim, or (b) £50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
If you are a consumer, you may have additional rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer protection legislation which these Terms do not affect.
10 Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to CV Central immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason including but not limited to a breach of these Terms.
You may stop using the Service at any time. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please contact info@cvcentral.io.
On termination, provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnities, and limitations of liability.
11 Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you are a consumer residing in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may also bring proceedings in your local court.
12 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (where we hold your address) and by posting a notice on the CV Central website at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before the changes take effect.
